For a computer person I could see how this works. For some fields like technology and marketing many people are on Twitter and it makes sense. When I worked in a law firm you could not have things that public and no one knew what Twitter was. In fact all social networks on blogged at many law firms. My friends can’t even read my posts on blogger because it is blocked. The temptation to play on social networks and to become addicted to Twitter is quite high.

On a side note when you are making a speech focus on getting the point across and not on trying to be fun. I also miss the IBM long since past where everyone wore suits and looked like professionals.

I feel it is not possible to eliminate work emails but we can minimize the usage. http://www.tipskey.com/manufacturing/work_email_tips.htm
